We, Ken and Ana Male welcome you to our bed and breakfast which has comfortable three bedroom underground accommodation that Coober Pedy is famous for.

Situated in Potch Gully this is a B&B with a difference. We KNOW that you will find that this unique town and its style of living will provide you with an experience that you will never forget.

Ever since opal was discovered in Coober Pedy and miners moved to the area, dugouts became a preferred form of house accommodation. Dugouts, being a relatively constant temperature, provide comfortable living in the summer heat as well as when the desert winter nights chill surface dwellers to the bone.

Early dugouts in Coober Pedy were small, often cramped and badly lit, but with modern mining machinery, dugout builders are almost only limited by their imagination. As you can see with modern appliances and lighting, they provide an accommodation experience not to be missed.

Privacy and security is assured

We are only 1.5km from the town centre on a sealed road with airport and coach transfers available.

Continental breakfast is supplied and cooked breakfast and barbeque packs available on request.

A short flight of stairs from the carport takes you into your accommodation. The first thing you will notice is the mild 22-23 degree temperature underground. Without the lights on, the rooms are dark and very quiet, so you'll find that you'll have the most satisfying sleep ever, any time of the day!

Kitchen Dining

Our bed and breakfast has all the comforts of home. The kitchen and dining area is spacious and well appointed, with modern, spotless appliances that make for a truly comfortable self-catering stay. Dine in or visit one of Coober Pedy's many restaurants or take-aways, the options are yours. Continental breakfast is provided and cooked breakfast available on request and there is a barbeque available to use.

Lounge/Sitting Rooms

Our lounge areas are quiet and roomy with comfortable furniture. Plenty of room to spread out. There is a Home theatre, television and Internet access.

Three Bedrooms

As you can see in the shots here, our bedrooms are roomy and comfortable with great queen-size matresses and comfy doonas. No pokey little rooms here. The master bedroom boasts an en-suite while the other two share the main bathreoom. Each bed also has its own television too. Room 2 has a queen sized bed and single bed as a family room. Room 3 has twin single beds with trundle mattresses.

Outdoor covered BBQ/Bar area

This area is just perfect to entertain, either just your family or a heap of friends. Room for the kids to play if the weathers crook or roll out your indoor bowls set. Barbeque and spa facilities are available for your use. Wood heater and airconditioner also available in outside area.

Laundry Facilities

We have laundry facilities to wash and iron clothing if you been having a real adventure.

We have a luxury 4WD vehicle that seats a maximum of 6 people, that way we can give you a highly personalised tour experience that will leave you amazed. We have decades of experience living and mining in Coober Pedy that we are proud to share with you. We do a half day tour of opal mines and the Breakaways, Moon Plain and the Dog Fence.
